TRUE SUMMARY

To cut a long story short, the domain "Spectrumcore-node.uk" has been used for internet access to the Matrix homeserver.

After the fact, a website felt necessary. However, the primary domain is already in use for the homeserver, whoops, the homeserver was built upon more and more, whoops!, family and friends have already established their accounts, WHOOPS!!, changing the domain would shut the server down and require a painful process to migrate, WHOOOOPS!!!! [still, it's fixable.. later]

Game server concept was tested through Minecraft first, while now the server is down and post-minecraft game servers would also switch off. Now I've got knowledge to use the same domain for different servers using DNS records! I shall post about game servers once I figure out what exactly I want to host.

As well, I have tested the concept of remote storage. At this moment the only limitation from keeping it a permanent fixture is machines. But the concept works, the hard part was done!

    Log Entry

While I am for now just updating logs with HTML, I thought to give myself the template above me. Easy new line, easy copypaste. Until a new solution is found, this is what I'm doing, and the above log is deliberately placed there.

    Unplugged

The Matrix homeserver is a priority for me to assist my parents. Yeah, none of it was necessary, there are indie platforms or even major ones. But the amount of problems with accounts and apathy, my next move is to 1- Explain the coolness to my parents, 2- Let the explanation motivate them to try it out, 3- Provide further comms (chat, email, etc.) Now that the importance was established, I knew I couldn't host a game server on the same device I host the Matrix server due to resource limitation. Ergo, the Minecraft server was sacrificed. Besides, nobody but me was using it. :/

    Player Two

Years ago, I rented out a different URL for the purpose of hosting a private Minecraft server. Armed now with a domain name meant for me and not for a group and with prior knowledge of dedicated servers, I went and done it again!.

    Entry Point

Being able to display work and tinker with HTML, CSS and JS was needed a lot more than I thought. While the only job the domain did was for our homeserver, now it serves as a public-facing website too, a visit destination. With a read around on site, instructions and destinations on this domain can be confidently shared!

    Matrix Server

The Homeserver, once built on LAN for in-house comms between me and the family, was configured to use the domain "Spectrumcore-node.uk", with https support now, Matrix clients freaking out with connection loss was eliminated and the possibility to reach out on a clean platform to eachother was expanded beyond our home Wi-Fi.
